Module Description: This module centres on the societal and business culture of the Spanish-speaking world (Spain and Latin America as a whole). This includes topics on the sectors of the economy and the job culture. This module also reviews and expands on the B1 level of Spanish according to European Framework of Reference for Languages: the combination of past tenses (preterite and imperfect), the direct object pronouns (usage and position) and the introduction of the Subjunctive tense.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Cultural Studies
The sectors of the economy (primary, secondary and tertiary) and the job culture (sectors, locations, companies, work timetables, holidays, pay) in Spain and Latin America as a whole.
Listening skills
Audio material includes B1 level on topics of films and books; advertisement and marketing; societal problems and solutions.
Speaking skills
Group and individual oral work on B1 level topics on films and books; advertisement and marketing; societal problems and solutions.
Writing skills
Writing essays on B1 level topics, films and books; advertisement and marketing; societal problems and solutions.
Reading skills
Reading moderately complex authentic texts in B1 level on topics of films and books; advertisement and marketing; societal problems and solutions.
Grammar skills
