Module Description: The purpose of this module is to develop the learner's skills in professional and personal development as well as to inform them of the career paths in hospitality management and leadership roles. On completion of this module the learner should have a range of interpersonal management and professional skills necessary for their career in tourism or hospitality management. In addition they should understand the importance of interpersonal skills, professionalism, timeframes in business and techniques for enhancing their management and leadership skills.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO2 Appraise leadership models and identify contemporary examples of successful and unsuccessful leadership today

LO4 Examine leadership best practice in tourism & hospitality management.
LO5 Assess the importance of self- development and the value of experiential learning in becoming a professional tourism or hospitality manager
