Module Description: This module focuses broadly on the geography and culture of the Spanish speaking world (Spain and Latin America) through the Spanish language. This course also reviews and expands the key aspects of the A2+ Spanish level according to the European Framework of Reference for languages. This include topics such as technology, languages, health and housing/living amongst others and the review of all past tenses (present perfect, preterite and imperfect), present and future tenses.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Research in the target language different aspects of the geography and culture of the Spanish-speaking world (Spain and Latin America)
LO2 Listen and critically examine spoken Spanish to include past, present and future tenses and topics of housing/living, languages and health in A2 level
LO3 Speak Spanish to include past, present and future tenses in topics such as housing/living, languages, health, technology, cities, work, studies in A2+ level
LO4 Write paragraphs in Spanish to include past, present and future tenses in topics of housing/living, languages and health, holidays, work, life in the historical past in contrast to the present in A2 level.
LO5 Analyse and examine authentic texts to include past, present and future tenses in topics of housing/living, languages, health, historical past, work and holidays in A2 level.

Cultural Studies
The fundamentals of geography and culture in Spanish-speaking countries (Spain and Latin America) through the Spanish language
Listening Skills
Audio materials include films on culture and geography in the Spanish-speaking world (Spain and Latin America). It also includes listening material on the topics of housing/living, languages and health in A2+ level.
Speaking Skills
Group and individual oral work in the past, present and future on the topics of housing/living, languages, health, holidays, work, historical past and technology in A2+ level.
Writing skills
Writing longer paragraphs in the past, present and future on the topics of housing/living, languages, health, holidays, work, historical past and technology in A2+ level.
Reading Skills
Reading moderately complex authentic business texts in the past, present and future on the topics of housing/living, languages, health, holidays, work, historical past and technology in A2+ level.
Grammar
Aread of grammar covered for listening, speaking, writing and reading skills: review and expansion of the past tenses (present perfect, indefinite and imperfect tenses), the present and the future in a A2+ level. Also it includes the differences between POR and PARA
