Module Description: This module introduces the student to the characteristics of project work with particular reference to the community sector. It considers the resourcing of projects and reviews the funding process and identifies relevant funding agencies. The module introduces students to the process of developing project proposals and evaluating project progress.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Characteristics of projects. Stages in project work. Community needs and identify the key characteristics of project work and to interpret these in the context of community development.
Project proposals
Structure and content. Proposal writing.
Project management and administration
Management and administration - structure, processes, communications and reporting.
Project Evaluation
Purposes of evaluation. Approaches and methods for evaluation. Data gathering and interpretation.
Presenting and reporting
Presenting and reporting oral and visual presentations.
