This module introduces the constitution, the political system and government in Ireland and relates it to the development and implementation of social policy along with its implications for communities and their development. It reviews these in the European context and introduces the student to the development of social movements in this regard.

Review the development and implementation of social policy in Ireland with particular reference to the interface between social policy and social issues |

Review the impact of social policy on local communities and how local communities can influence the development of social policy |
