Fundamentals of Nutrition
Components of energy expenditure, storage and food energy. What constitutes a healthy diet.

Nutrients
The role of carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins and minerals in normal body functioning and health; digestion and absorption.

Obesity and Weight Management
Behavioural, biological and environmental determinants of obesity and its prevalence. How diet and PA/exercise contribute to energy balance. Different approaches to body composition measurement.

Nutrition for the Athlete
Role of macronutrients, micronutrients and hydration for optimal performance. The female triad. Myths and misconceptions on the use of supplements.
