Module Description: This module is one of the Coaching Science suite of modules. It focuses on the practical and theoretical aspects of planning, teaching and evaluating effective activity sessions for young children.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Critically evaluate different coaching styles and philosophies.
LO2 Explain the role of the coach and discuss the qualities of an effective coach in children's sport.
LO3 Plan a series of developmentally appropriate activity sessions for primary school aged children developing the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains.
LO4 Effectively coach and evaluate developmentally appropriate activity sessions for primary school aged children in a safe and positive environment.

Long Term Athlete Development Model (LTAD)
Stages of the LTAD model and implications for teaching and coaching children in sport and physical activity.
