Module Description: |
Students will build and consolidate on their skills and knowledge to create a sustainable garment. In doing this, students will apply fashion trends and fashion theory within their design brief process.

Fashion Trends
Why trends happen and their reflection of society. Examining the trend cycle and observing it in relation to current trends. The use of trend forecasting and trend forecasting agencies

Colour & Style Analysis
Importance of colour analysis and body shape in creating garments that suit and enhance individuals; taking account of hair colour, skin tone, body shape, personality and lifestyle.

Fashion Theory
Fashion as communication and identity. Analysing the reasons behind fashion consumption levels. The globalisation of fashion and its effects on society.

Garment Construction
Constructing a garment/item that uses sustainable consumption and production processes in line with SDG 12, that is functional, well designed and constructed.

Design Brief Process & Exhibition
Creating a design brief that will include elements such as aim, objectives, solutions, work plan, design boards, application of fashion trends, ethical fashion and/or sustainability, evaluation and presenting at an exhibition.
