Module Description: Music Technology Portfolio. Students present a major and a minor portfolio in Computer-Based Music Applications AND Practical Recording & Studio Technology. If the major portfolio is chosen from one section the minor portfolio MUST be chosen from the other section. The major/minor weighting is 70/30.

Indicative Content
Major Portfolio
A learner submitting the Major Portfolio section of this module will a) a) prepare a number of digital release audio files of approximately 20 minutes total duration that represents their ability to perform, record, master and produce to a high standard. Whilst the portfolio will incorporate various facets of the recording process it will also exhibit the individual creative and artistic abilities of the student and may incorporate other aspects of multimedia, e.g. video or animation or b) create or compose a substantial interactive electronic composition approximatiely 15 minutes in length showing extensive knowledge of the various audio manipulation tools available in the CSM. The nature of the piece will be approved via proposal process.
Minor Portfolio
A learner submitting the Minor Portfolio section of this module will a) a) prepare a number of digital release audio files of not less than 10 minutes total duration that represents their ability to perform, record, master and produce to a high standard. Whilst the portfolio will incorporate various facets of the recording process it will also exhibit the individual creative and artistic abilities of the student and may incorporate other aspects of multimedia, e.g. video or animation or b) create or compose a interactive electronic composition at least 7 minutes in length showing extensive knowledge of the various audio manipulation tools available in the CSM. The nature of the piece will be approved via proposal process.
