Module Description: |
The learner will undertake a relevant work placement for no less than 15 weeks. The placement will familiarise the student with work practices and procedures and also provide him/her with the opportunity to observe the practical application of theoretical knowledge gained on his/her programme. The placement is supported by a member of academic staff in MTU together with a workplace mentor. The aim of the placement is to introduce the learner to a structured employment in a relevant work sector and to develop an understanding of the organisation, its culture, procedures and technologies. The MTU Academic Supervisor visits the student in the latter stages of the placement in the placement organisation either onsite or online.
