Module Description: Multi-track Production and Basics of Digital Sound Synthesis.

Advanced exploration in the recording studio and field work environments in conjunction with an introduction to sound synthesis.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Demonstrate skill in the use of the multi-track and overdubbing capabilities of DAWs.
LO2 Effectively and creatively edit and manipulate audio samples using the tools, effects and plug-ins available to a variety of DAWs.
LO3 Skillfully manipulate and synthesize audio through the use of alternative software and input devices for computer music systems.
LO4 Demonstrate effective time-management and decision-making to optimise use of a recording studio booking.

Any student wishing to enrol on Music & Technology 6 (MUSC8042) must have already successfully completed a CSM level 7 (intermediate) or level 8 (advanced) Lighting or Audio technology module, or its equivalent, in the preceding semester.
