On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Indicative Content
Banking Fundamentals
Financial intermediation / theories / benefits, role of banks, banks and other financial institutions, regulatory framework, current issues in banking, forces of change in banking. Types of banking / retail, corporate, investment banking. Role of central banks.
Liquidity & Solvency Risks
Balance sheet & income structure, bank performance and financial ratio analysis, asset liability management, liquidity management and reserves, capital adequacy management, off balance sheet activities, loan sales & securitisation.
Individual Bank and whole Market Risks
Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risk, Credit risk, interest rate risk, funding risk, counter-party risk, FX risk, market risk, and operational risk, capital risk and solvency, risk interaction.
Risk Management & Regulation
Managing risks. Corporate structure, diversification, risk management products including derivatives and structured products. Ratings Agencies
