Module Description: Recording & Electronic Music. This module enables the learner to develop skills in the recording studio and audio manipulation techniques for sound design and the creation of electronic music compositions.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO2 Creatively utilise samples and other resources to compose soundscapes and other electronic music media.
LO3 Competently produce audio recordings using a variety of industry standard hardwares and softwares.

Historical context of recording, both in the studio and the field.
Microphones in the Recording Studio
Mic positioning in the Studio situation. Mic choices in the Studio situation.
Simple Recording
Analogue recording. Location (mobile) recording with limited resources. Recording with hand-held devices.
Electro-acoustic Music
Use of DAWs and several other audio manipulation softwares.
