Module Description: The third in a progressive series of skills-centered modules. This enables the student to further develop technique and performance skills in different styles of music theatre singing
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Demonstrate developing technical fluency, including the ability to apply the appropriate resonance strategies
LO2 Present vocal exercises and studies appropriate to both legit and contemporary vocal styles
LO3 Perform a programme of repertoire specific to a prescribed era of Music Theatre to demonstrate technical and interpretive skills relevant to all genres of musical theatre
LO4 Develop an understanding of vocal health, including the ability to warm up the voice safely, and in a variety of styles
LO5 Reflect on learning, research and practice methods

Technique
To acquire technical stability and an understanding of vocal resonance, qualities and systems through individually tailored exercises
Analysis
Analysis of era-specific musical theatre repertoire identifying different techniques required for legit and contemporary vocal styles
Repertory Studies
Study of musical theatre song forms and types appropriate to a specific era for both legit and contemporary styles
Performance Skills
Growing ability to integrate technical singing skills with other performance skills, such as storytelling, acting through song and use of appropriate movement
Vocal Wellness
Continued awareness and development of vocal wellness measures for solo and ensemble performance
Reflective Practice
Reflect on learning research and individual practice through weekly submission on Canvas
