Module Description: This module continues the exploration of the Golden Age of musical theatre and examines the transition towards the early rock musicals of the 1970s. Public speaking skills are introduced to complement and build upon previously acquired academic writing skills.

Indicative Content
Musical Theatre Chorus
Rehearsal and performance of repertoire from the mid to late twentieth-century; manipulation of tone and vocal stamina; applied musicianship skills (sight-reading and melody repetition).
Repertory Studies
The decline of the Golden Age and the rise of film and television; American partnerships, post-war London and the British musical; cultural shifts, rock and roll music, and the concept musical; public speaking and research skills.
Theory and Rudiments of Music
Irregular time divisions and rhythms; scales, key signatures and tonic triads up to six sharps and flats; chorus writing; compound intervals; chords and cadences.
