Source, message and audience characteristics. Theory and application of use of videos, blogs, social media, supporting visuals, infographics and written communication materials for variety of audiences. Examine examples of science information and misinformation

Ethical nutrition communication
Roles and responsibilities of scientists in communicating scientific research and promoting the public understanding of science, maintaining credibility, sponsorship of nutrition education programs. Appropriate professional conduct including scope of practice, legislation in nutrition practice, responsibility and accountability, and Association for Nutrition (AfN) Standards of Ethics, Conduct and Performance.

Theories of behaviour change
Theories for motivating audiences, facilitating action; including self-efficacy theory, social cognitive theory, extended theory of planned behaviour, health belief model

Design and evaluation of nutrition education programmes
Determinants of change (including religious and cultural beliefs and practices and degree of acculturation), deciding objectives, generation of plan, formative evaluation, outcome evaluation, tools for data collection
