Module Description: This module reviews key texts from the 17th to the early 20th century. The work of prominent playwrights is examined in its socio-cultural context.

Indicative Content
Theatre History
Review of major works from the 17th century to early 20th century. Major playwrights from Spain, France and England are included. Examination of playwrights within cultural context.
Performance
Through performance of short extracts, learners demonstrate an understanding of both the texts they have studied and their original staging conditions.
