Leadership
What does leadership in ECEC mean/entail? Effective leadership - theory and practice; characteristics of an effective leader; impact of leadership styles; leadership versus management; leadership responsibilities. Role of leadership in quality practice. Pedagogical leadership.

Effective Teamwork
Building effective teams. Group dynamics. Group development theory. Role of a leader in team. Team leader / group leader.

Supervision in ECEC
Purpose of supervision and reflexive practice. Supervision policy. National practice frameworks, guidelines, and regulations; strategies for effective supervision in ECEC practice; mentoring and coaching.

Advocacy in ECEC
Leadership development opportunities and career pathways. Leadership for inclusion. LINC. AIM. First Five - Inspiring Leadership in Early Learning and Care. Children as leaders.
