Module Description: This module explores the methods, practices and techniques of sculptural elements within a fine art context.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO5 Evaluate and control the use of appropriate process and materials with particular reference to Health & Safety.

Indicative Content
Practical Workshop & demonstration
In the workshop environment, students will explore a range of sculptural techniques and processes: A series of resistant and non resistant relief methodologies and techniques, the use of traditional and non-traditional materials, elementary joining and fabrication technologies and methods in wood and metal. In addition to this, students will learn and activate the health & safety working policies of the workshop environment.
Lecture/Presentation
Through lecturer presentations and seminars, this module explores the contextualisation of the use of sculptural elements in wider art historical and contemporary fine art contexts.
