Module Description: This module is designed for students who wish to continue developing and enhancing their conducting and orchestration skills. It can also act as a practical foundation for those who might wish to study conducting and / or orchestration at an advanced level later. Choral music (3+ parts), rehearsal technique and orchestration for small orchestra are the main foci of the module.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Indicative Content
Conducting
Study of choral music (3+ parts) and orchestral recitative; intermediate vocal practice and linguistics (Italian and English through IPA); rehearsal preparation and technique; psychology of conducting.
Orchestration
Orchestration exercises; project, setting of a piano or similar item for small orchestra; play-through and recording of one's work.
