Module Description: This module aims to develop an overview and understanding of business practices, as
they impact on commercial design. It will be delivered with particular emphasis on
application in the consumer goods and services sectors.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Groups and Teams
Characteristics of groups and teams; team development; benefits from using groups and teams; conflict management.
Ethics & Corporate Reputation
Ethics and ethical behaviour; good corporate citizenship; The impact of company behaviour on corporate reputation and brands.
Current Business Issues and Developments
Intellectual property and associated legal issues; impact of EU Law on such areas as design rights, trademarks, logos etc., with reference to recent high profile cases.
Design Thinking
Design Thinking as a business strategy.
