Plan and utilise contemporary digital visual media and tools in a creative manner. |

Understand, describe and exploit the properties of a range of materials commonly used with digital manufacturing. |

Use appropriate methodologies and techniques to transform imagery into 2D & 3D objects. |

Contextualise the use of digital design and manufacturing within a broader historic and contemporary fine art context. |

Evaluate and control the use of appropriate processes and materials with particular reference to Health & Safety. |

Practical Workshop & demonstration
Safety induction to Benchspace work area, introduction to contemporary making tools, overview of core CAD tools (TinkerCAD / Inkscape/ Illustrator).

Contemporary Tools & Practices
Introduction to module and general overview of contemporary making tools and practices. Introduction to artists and designers using contemporary making tools as part of their practice.

Identification of areas of interest
Collation of data related to contemporary making, tools and materials.

Theoretical Explorations
Exploration of the concept of Contemporary Making - key practitioners, their practice and the tools used.

Time Management
Identification, structure and planning of the time available with consideration of the process requirements.

Health and Safety
Identification and application of relevant health and safety issues in relation to processes, skills and workshop operation.
