Use the latest technology to support the automotive communication process within the automotive industry. |

Use the internet and appropriate databases to conduct research pertinent to automotive industry activities. |

Apply Microsoft Office programmes to tasks commonly used within the automotive industry - Excel, Word and PowerPoint. |
LO4 |
Prepare and tailor Curriculum Vitae and cover letters for job scenarios within the automotive industry. |
LO5 |
Prepare and deliver a PowerPoint presentation on a defined topic relevant to the automotive industry. |

Verbal Communications
Effective speaking and listening skills, Use of technical and non-technical vocabulary for automotive applications, public speaking & presentations.

Basic Language & Written Communication Skills / Considerations
Language/Written communication styles. Vocabulary, grammar, spelling, Punctuation considerations. Use of dictionary, thesaurus and books of reference. Effective writing styles. Correspondence and reports.

Principles & Techniques for Communication in the workplace
Purpose and objectives of communication. Principles of effective communication. Types of communication used for automotive applications. Meetings. Interviews. Email. Basic interpersonal communications.

Online Research & Referencing.
Using appropriate search engines and online databases to obtain information relating to the course of study. Harvard referencing.

CV Preparation
Preparing and presenting a personal curriculum vitae in line with best practice.

Technology as an enabler of communication.
Use of technology including social media as a medium of effective internal and external communication.

Microsoft Office Suite
Microsoft packages applicable to the automotive industry - Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
