Module Description: This is the second step in the sequence of core Musical Theatre Ensemble modules and is centered on the directed presentation of numbers, scenes and excerpts from selected works by the company.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Understand the elements required to construct a coherent theatre presentation
LO2 Take direction in preparing appropriate repertoire for a theatrical presentation and deliver their role accordingly
LO3 Execute the preparation required to master the skills and individual performance elements necessary for one's role within the company presentation
LO4 Perform publicly in roles and styles dictated by the libretto and the director's artistic realisation of it
LO5 Partake in and understand all elements of an industry standard rehearsal process

Casting
Partake in and understand a casting process - including auditions and preparation for same.
Direction
Take direction in preparing a public theatrical performance.
Rehearsal
Engage with an industry style rehearsal process, including - separate departmental rehearsals, full floor rehearsals, staggers, runs, technical rehearsals, and dress rehearsals.
Performance
Perform as part of an ensemble, to deliver a directed performance of Musical Theatre song(s), routine(s), scene(s) or excerpt(s) - with movement, staging and/or choreography.
Technical
Engage with technical elements, particularly sound and lighting.
Stagecraft
Understand basic elements of stagecraft.
