Module Description: This module enables the learner to carry out systematic investigation in an area relating to music history, music education/psychology, critical editing or Irish traditional music, which may be biographical, historical, or related to cultural or literary/background influences, or involve field work. This module completes the presentation of research findings in an area for which a research plan has already been designed and an extensive literature review completed.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Proposal for structure of the project.
Chapter drafts
To be developed with guidance of the supervisor and submitted regularly for ongoing assessment.
Full dissertation
A 9,000-13,000 word dissertation in standard format, or in the case of field work or critical editing, an equivalent body of work with full commentary.
