Module Description: This module aims to provide students (through case analysis and practical application) with the skills and knowledge required to demonstrate
an in-depth understanding of key issues involved in strategy creation, evaluation and implementation.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Choose and apply appropriate strategic management frameworks to develop and recommend strategic actions/plans.
LO2 Analyse the external and internal environments for a variety of organisations to generate suitable strategies that lead to a competitive advantage.
LO3 Appraise the various business and corporate strategies available to companies to design competitive strategies and defend strategic changes.
LO4 Critique strategic recommendations to evaluate the strengths and limitations of various strategies, strategic analysis and strategic management frameworks.
LO5 Suggest methods for strategy execution to ensure competitive advantage is optimised while considering organisational structures, corporate culture, and control systems.

Assessment Description
Students will work in groups to complete this project/report where they will select a real-world company, evaluate the environment in which the organisation operates and critique current strategies. Students will provide individual strategic recommendations. Peer to peer feedback will also form part of the assessment.

Assessment Description
This assessment will take the form of a case study analysis where students will be put in the position of a Strategic Manager and asked to analyse the strategic future of the organisation. Students will also reflect on what they have learned from undertaking the assessment.
