This module facilitates students to design, conduct, collate and present an independent piece of research relating to the field of Early Childhood Education & Care (ECEC) with supervisory support and learning resources on the VLE.

Apply relevant and appropriate research theory to the field of ECEC. |
LO2 |
Employ a code of research ethics specific to the ECEC field throughout their research process. |
LO3 |
Distinguish between quantitative and qualitative data analysis processes and their respective role in interrogating data collected. |
LO4 |
Apply guidance and feedback from supervisory support to work independently. |
LO5 |
Compile a dissertation relating to the field of Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC). |
LO6 |
Orally present research findings and recommendations using visual aids. |

Supervision
Small group supervisory sessions at which dissertation planning is discussed with peers and supervisor: research breakdown; data collection methods, progress reports and feedback.

Active Learning - making use of resources on VLE
Dissertation presentation; academic protocols; presentation skills guidance, sample dissertations, podcasts, live sessions on managing the dissertation and preparing for the presentation
