This module gives students an understanding of how organisational information systems support decision making and strategy. It also focuses on e-commerce, effective communication across social media platforms and other digital channels in business, and the practical use of spreadsheet software.

Types of electronic commerce; mobile commerce; intranets, extranets; EDI systems; case study examples.

Social Media Technologies
Exploration of the use of social media platforms and web 2.0 to enhance business communication, collaboration and connection. Email etiquette and effective written communication across digital networked channels - both internal and external.

Spreadsheets - Intermediate to Advanced Excel
Count functions; IF functions; Sumif; Introduction to Pivot Tables & Pivot Charts; V-Lookup; Data Sorting, Filtering; Subtotals; Conditional Formatting; Data Validation; Linking and Embedding; Worksheet Protection; Macros.
