This module will help the learner to develop greater control and flexibility in the use of the voice and body, and how these skills are applied to texts, incorporating the acting techniques of Uta Hagen and Sanford Meisner.

Uta Hagen
Acting techniques which encourage actors to avoid over-intellectualising their processes and instead root themselves in rigorous observation of daily life.

Sanford Meisner
The work of Sanford Meisner’s repetition exercise and truthful improvisation techniques opens the actor up to more than their own experiences through the use of imagination rather than affective memory.
