Module Description: This module will expand the range, clarity and strength of the actor's voice and movement skills, introduce performance of dramatic texts in monologue and duologue format, and develop the learners exploration of characterisation and performance approaches, introducing the work of Peter Brook and other relevant practitioners.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Voice
Expand the range, clarity, strength and flexibility of the actor's voice
Movement
Exercises to enable the student to achieve artistic expression, unharnessed by habitual thinking or physical blocks e.g. the work of Vanessa Ewan & Debbie Green, and Dympna Callery
Dramatic Literature
A variety of performance literature from different periods and styles e.g. Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde, Dennis Kelly, Enda Walsh, Arthur Miller, David Mamet, Conor McPherson, Marina Carr, Tennessee Williams
Peter Brook - Performance Practice
Exploration of a variety of performance practices including those of Peter Brook drawing on past publications such as 'The Empty Space' and the more recent 'Tip of theTongue - Reflections on Language and Meaning'
Critical Reflection
Critically reflect on coursework including working practices and modes of rehearsal
