Module Description: This module will build professional practice knowledge to prepare students to fulfil a range
of roles in programme production across different platforms. Participants will through a
closely monitored review process develop programme ideas and production concepts to industry standard.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Discuss the interplay of traditional and emerging programme formats and genres and their target audiences
LO2 Discuss the critical importance of the relationship between ideation, articulation and market awareness in the media sector
LO3 Create and present proposals for industry players in the form of series concepts for TV
LO4 Explain the various job roles and the related and changing responsibilities involved in contemporary television production.
LO5 Determine and critically employ strategies to enhance career choice and career development in the media industry

Developing strategies to create and advance interesting, engaging programme ideas in a range of genres and formats
Treatment Writing
Writing and preparing an effective proposal for a programme, series or production concept. An understanding of genre, format and programme delivery across multiple platforms.
Social Media Portfolio
Using social media platforms to create and develop online CV's and host for relevant skills and experience
Television Industry Roles
An understanding of the many and varied roles and responsibilities of the television industry
