Module Description: Composition of (a) piece(s), equivalent in value to Masters Dissertation. To be of 20 minutes in duration and accompanied with the appropriate documentation. The documentation should include discussion on influences, tools utilised and critical analysis of the piece(s), thus contextualising the piece(s).
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Create an electronic music composition that demonstrates an individual musical personality and engages with the audience at a cognitive and aesthetic level, through performance of the work.
LO2 Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of, and a creative facility for, the use and application of a variety of software packages and hardware relevant to electronic music composition.
LO3 Contextualise his/her place within a larger musical & historical context.
LO4 Demonstrate a wide-ranging knowledge of techniques from other fields of learning that can inform and enhance his/her work.
LO5 Clearly and succinctly evaluate other works in the field and apply insights gained to their own compostions.
