Module Description: The aim of this module is to teach students to become effective crew members, who can safely and efficiently upgrade and
operate in a multi crew environment and to provide exposure to and a sound understanding of numerous new skills and procedures are
required. Optimum decision making, communication, division of tasks, use of checklists, mutual supervision, teamwork and
support throughout all phases of flight under normal, abnormal and emergency conditions are essential.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Communication without visual cues, briefing cabin crew, interaction with ground crew.
Authority and leadership
Exploration of leadership styles, maintaining authority in difficult situations, chain of command.
Flight Deck management styles

Generic error modelling system, Rose of Leary, Shell Model, human error.

Aviation medicine, psychology and behaviour, the human element in the flight deck.

Assessment Description
Flight Test - Simulation. The module is assessed on Pass/Fail basis. Flight Skill Test · A FAIL is more than one section is failed at the first attempt or if any item is failed at the second attempt of a Series Flight Skill Test · A PASS all sections of the test are passed Flight Skill Test · A PARTIAL PASS when only one section of the test has been failed. The test involves skills based elements (focused on more challenging circumstances) through simulation in a multi-crew environment and oral assessment in parallel to convey critical thinking and problem solving.

Reassessment of this module will consist of a repeat examination. It is possible that there will also be a requirement to be reassessed in a coursework element.
