Module Description: PM in supply chains is a resource to tackle the variety and complexity in supply chain networks. Businesses continue to evolve and adapt to remain competitive and need resources to address supply chain complexities. This module is designed to overlay the structure and knowledge-areas of project management to supply chain architectures.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

PMBOK Knowledge Areas: integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, procurement and stakeholder management
Stages of the Project Lifecycle
Initiating, planning, creation of work-breakdown-structure (WBS), executing, monitoring and controlling, close-out.
Project Management as a supply chain resource
Use of project management to co-ordinate supply chain activities. Setting and achieving smart goals within timeframes, budget and scope through multi-fasceted project management
Supply Chain Operations Management across Industry Sectors
Familiarisation with the diverse and industry specific demands of a range of sectors including pharmaceutical, electronics, agri-food, logistics and distribution, port sectors, and green energy prodution.
Mapping supply chain architecture to PMBOK knowledge areas
Overlaying of the existing industry operational practices, and other strategic initiatives [in the quest to achieve and maintain competitive advantage] onto the PMBOK knowledge areas [integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, procurement and stakeholder management]
