Key Financial Decisions
The three key financial decisions (investment, financing and dividend) and the key role played by the manager. Agency theory and shareholders wealth.
Dividend Policy Theory and Capital Structure
Dividend policy theory including motives for paying dividends, factors influencing the dividend amount and the information content of dividends, competing dividend policy theories. The theories of capital structure.
Investment Appraisal
Practical use of net present value (NPV) , accounting rate of return (ARR), payback and internal rate of return (IRR) as investment appraisal techniques and implications of capital rationing.
Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC)
Calculate the weighted average cost of capital (WACC) using the value and cost of each element of a capital structure.
Portfolio Theory Concepts
Portfolio theory concepts and their use in the investment decision, measuring risk, diversification, financial and non-financial factors and capital asset pricing model (CAPM).
