Module Description: The learner will undertake a relevant work placement or project of no less than 10 weeks. The programme will familiarise the learner with work practices and procedures and
provide the learner with the opportunity to observe the practical application of theoretical
knowledge gained on his/her programme. The placement/project is supported by a member of
academic staff in CIT together with a workplace mentor where applicable. The aim of the industrial placement is to introduce the learner to structured employment in a relevant work sector and to develop in the learner an understanding of the organisation, its procedures and technology.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO2 Write a comprehensive report on the placement/project and provide an oral presentation based on that report

Location of Placement/Project
Learners may be placed in industry, they may be required to complete an in-house project or they may be placed in an educational institute outside of Ireland to complete a project.
