|
Module Description: |
The aim of the Electrical Installation Project module is to develop the learners skills required to research, develop, manage and design a solution for an electrical installation project. It also develops the learners ability to search for information, communicate with peers or engineering professionals, develop a solution which meets the required technical, environmental, ethical and safety standards and preparation for a career in a professional engineering environment.
|
Learning Outcomes |
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to: |
# |
Learning Outcome Description |
LO1 |
Interpret technical reports and memos in the development of a proposal for an electrical services installation specification. |
LO2 |
Exercise a structured approach to planning and organising an electrical services installation project proposal, with due regards towards ethical, environmental and safety considerations. |
LO3 |
Specify electrical distribution equipment, lighting, metering, data and voice networks and identify possible renewable energy sources. |
LO4 |
Use appropriate design tools, computer software and techniques to analyse, revise and test the project solution. |
LO5 |
Maintain project progress reports of the ongoing project development through varied communication channels to engineering professionals/project client using standard aids. |

Module Recommendations
This is prior learning (or a practical skill) that is strongly recommended before enrolment in this module. You may enrol in this module if you have not acquired the recommended learning but you will have considerable difficulty in passing (i.e. achieving the learning outcomes of) the module. While the prior learning is expressed as named MTU module(s) it also allows for learning (in another module or modules) which is equivalent to the learning specified in the named module(s).
