This module will equip the learner with the tools and techniques necessary to manage time, cost and quality on construction projects. The student will develop a detailed understanding of project management systems implemented throughout the project life cycle.

Principles of Project Management
Corporate organisation structures, project management vs operations management, strategic planning for project management and project management procedures throughout the project life cycle.

Management Systems
Quality management systems, safety management and environmental management systems.
|
Time Management on Construction Projects
Strategic time management, planning and scheduling complex projects, controlling time, the use of bespoke project scheduling software and delay analysis.

Cost Management on Construction Projects
Capital investment appraisal, development finance, economic impact analysis, cost management and control and whole life costing.
|
Strategic Project management issues
Interdependency and integration of the project team, effective communications, information and communications technology (ICT), building information management, partnering, design management, client management and construction procurement, lean methods, modern methods of construction.
