Module Description: This module will equip the learner with the tools and techniques necessary to undertake and effectively manage a global project using contemporary project management techniques.

Global Virtual Project Team
Management techniques, methodologies and key performance metrics used to manage, monitor and evaluate the global project; key performance indicators and benchmarking; monitoring techniques; cross cultural teams; software applications used by the virtual team. Information Communication Technology in global teams.
Project Evaluation
Evaluation of projects; why projects fail; risk quantification, evaluation, control and response; project disaster recovery techniques; effective project close out.
Partnering and Strategic Alliances - Globally
Benefits and limitiations of partnering; strategic alliances and the legal implications; cross-cultural project teams.
Project management in developing countries
Appropriate technologies; labour intensive construction; technology transfer; cultural awareness.
