On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to: |

LO1 |
Manipulate formulae and functions for spreadsheets, derive visual interpretations of information and design a graphical presentation on any topic. |
LO2 |
Develop and manage databases. |
LO3 |
Demonstrate a competency in utilising the internet as a resource for production of literature reviews on various projects. |
LO4 |
Utilise academic databases such as Science Direct and EBSCOhost to compile a database of peer review journal papers on selected topics. |
LO5 |
Produce reports on engineering topics which are structured, defined and concise. |
LO6 |
Produce and present presentations on engineering topics displaying good presentation skills. |

Structure of Engineering Reports
Executive summary, table of contents, introduction, aims and objectives, conclusions.

Editing of Reports
Text formatting, page formatting, editing and proofing, tables, figures, tabs and indents, templates.

Spreadsheets and Graphics
Creating spreadsheets, formulae, charts, macros, filtering information, templates, Visual Basic.

Databases
Designing, creating and querying the database, creating a form, producing a report, creating tables.

Presenting Data
Layout of slides, templates, formatting, slide shows, handouts, and printing.
