Module Description: |
This module introduces the student to cultural and societal aspects of Latin America. This module also deepens into the past tenses (preterite and imperfect tenses). It also centres on more common vocabulary, such as health and conversations at doctors. The simple future is also introduced.

Speak about oneself and others in Spanish in the present tense, the future tense and the past tenses (preterite and imperfect). |

Listen and analyse vocabulary related to doctors, biographies and life in the future. |

Cultural Studies
The study of cultural and societal aspects in Latin America (North, South and Central America).

Listening Skills
Audio material (CDs, videos, films, podcasts...) on the topics of doctors and health, biographies, past tenses and future plans (simple future).

Speaking Skills
Group and paired dramatic role-playing, including speaking about someone's biography, their past jobs and holidays, their holidays and their future plans as well as oral material covered in previous modules.

Writing Skills
Writing sentences and short paragraphs in the present, the future and the past tenses (preterite and imperfect) on the topics of health, past jobs, childhood and life in the future.

Reading Skills
Reading moderately complex authentic texts in Spanish, namely biographies, about life in the past (one's life or historical moments) and the future.

Grammar
Areas of grammar covered for listening, speaking, writing and reading skills include: revision of present tense (regular and irregular forms); the past tenses (indefinite and imperfect) and the simple future.
