Module Description: Students undertake a relevant work placement for the duration on an academic semester. The module is designed to provide the student with the opportunity to practically apply knowledge and skills acquired in their undergraduate studies to date. The aim of the placement is (i) to introduce the learner to a structured employment setting in a relevant work sector, and (ii) to foster an understanding of the organisation, its culture, procedures and technologies. The placement experience will be supported by a member of the Sport & Exercise Management 'Programme Team' in conjunction with a Workplace Mentor.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Apply relevant knowledge,skills and competencies acquired in programme studies to date to the analysis and solution of workplace problems.
LO2 Communicate in a professional manner within the workplace and when representing the workplace, both online and offline.
LO3 Display initiative in the positive contribution to team based tasks in addition to.the completion of their own assigned work.
LO4 Evaluate the achievement of personal and professional learning goals set prior to placement, both during and at the end of the placement experience.
LO5 Reflect upon and analyse the learning experiences attained during the placement experience.

Assessment Description
Formal Performance Report from Workplace Mentor. Formative feedback will be provided by the Workplace Mentor throughout the Placement experience.

Assessment Description
Evaluation will be conducted over 2 Placement Visits from an assigned Programme Team Supervisor. The 1st Visit will be conducted via Skype in the early stages of the Placement experience (Weeks 1-5) while the 2nd Visit will take place in the latter half of this Placement experience in conjunction with the Workplace Mentor.

Assessment Description
Portfolio of work completed along with a reflection on the learning achieved throughout the placement. Weekly logs to be signed by Workplace Mentor. Formative feedback will be provided throughout the Placement experience via Skype and other online communication platforms (e.g. Canvas, Email, etc.).
