Module Description: The learner will undertake a relevant work placement of no less than 10 weeks (50 days) duration in an appropriate business within the automotive sector. The placement will familiarise the learner with work practices in their chosen area and provide them with an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge and practical skills gained throughout their programme. The placement is supported by a member of academic staff in CIT along with a workplace mentor. (NOTE: Where circumstances dictate, a community based project may substitute for work placement as agreed by programme board on a case by case basis)

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

The Enterprise
The nature and structure of the enterprise chosen to undertake the work placement within. Management and supervisory interfaces. HR, quality, health & safety, GDPR aspects associated with the enterprise.
Communication
Communication and interaction with both co-workers and customers. Oral and written communication skills. Progressive communication techniques.
Personal Development and Teamwork
Positive approach to work demonstrating progress and initiative. Effective co-operation and performance within team structures. Identification and resolution of issues to optimise performance of teams.
Applied learning
Application of knowledge and skills accumulated during the degree programme into real-life situations within the workplace.
