Module Description: This module helps prepare students for their professional life by placing an emphasis on their own learning and reflections of their practice in this changing industry. Speakers from a variety of organisations will present a series of guest lectures on a wide variety of topics, related to marketing and other business areas, personal and professional development. Students will be tasked with reflecting on these seminars and also with undertaking other activities while producing a learning portfolio to demonstrate their learning and accomplishments throughout their studies. The portfolio can include work relating to targeted industry briefs which will be structured as part of the module.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Synthesise perspectives from a variety of sources relating to business challenges, personal and professional development through a lens from the Marketing discipline.
LO2 Evaluate various overarching marketing approaches to contemporary business issues while demonstrating understanding of challenges that emerge from other business activities.
LO3 Produce a personal portfolio documenting the student's learning journey focusing on activities and engagement essential to the marketing industry.
LO4 Integrate key marketing learning from seminars and other activities aligned with the module to his/herself, in order to enhance their personal and professional development while conscious of emerging and contemporary issues.

Students will develop a reflective journal with a critical perspective on the seminars they have experienced as well as other tasks undertaken aligned with the module's outcomes e.g. networking events.

Assessment Description
Students will create a personal portfolio exhibiting key learning throughout their studies, e.g. from seminars, live cases, work placement or from tasks set up specifically for this module. The portfolio can include key artefacts that demonstrate their marketing know-how as well as further reflections on the learning that created it.
