This module focuses on the practice and importance of the international flow of information and its impact on communication in an information-driven society. This module aims to increase student confidence in networking and relationship building essential for international success. The module focuses on the practical aspects of negotiation and conflict management in intercultural business contexts.

International information flows such as international news, radio, television and film flows, flows via internet platforms and human forms of international flow

International Communication
Impact of international communication such as the dawn of the Information Society, the digital divide, the role of international communication in development, changing journalistic practices, international advertising and public relations, as well as the impact for local, national and world politics.

Networking
Networking skills. Networking on and offline.

Effective Negotiation
The negotiation process: preparation, relationship building, exchanging task related information, persuasion, concessions and agreement. The challenges of cross-cultural negotiation: understanding culture and negotiation styles.

Conflict Management
Conflict solving and the role of mediation: understanding options and cultural approaches to conflict resolution, mediation and dispute resolution.
