Module Description: The central aim of this module is to facilitate the development of the student's research skills for the submission of a written dissertation.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

The Research Thesis
The aim of the research thesis is to facilitate the development of research skills and enable students to defend their writing.
Analysis and critical thinking
Analysis and critical thinking are key skills to be practiced and learned during thesis writing
Application of theoretical concepts
Having reviewed key theoretical concepts students will analyse them and apply them to their own research
Ethical considerations
Any ethical considerations that may arise in the students research will be uncovered and evaluated.
Validity and reliability
Reliability and validity are two concepts that are important for defining and measuring bias and distortion during research and thesis writing.
