Module Description: This module focuses on idea generation and structured investigation. Emphasis is placed on developing approaches to research and visual investigation that informs and directs the creation of effective artworks. The development of an engaged and consistent studio practice is intrinsic to this module.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Studio Practice
Developing concepts through a series of artworks. Scheduled activities, including formal tutorials, seminars and critiques present learning opportunities that are essential to the effective development of individual studio practice.
Communication and negotiation skills
Communicating, defending and promoting personal concepts and outcomes. Third party interactions – communicating needs, negotiation.
Presentation and communications skills
Presentation skills; Multi-format display - selection and organisation, display skills. The artist’s vocabulary.
