Module Description: |
This module prepares participants to use online learning technologies and tools to create and manage pedagogically effective and engaging learning experience. Students undertaking the module will engage with the history and “state of the art” with regard to the use of technology for learning, will learn to implement key online instructional design approaches in tandem with corresponding e-learning and multimedia authoring tools and will be prepared to use a range of delivery and learning management solutions to, variously, host content, manage and track online learners, support online communication/collaboration, assessment etc.

Employ online instructional design approaches to develop learning technology solutions for a range of learning and learner needs |
LO2 |
Develop pedagogically effective and engaging online learning content and related activities using appropriate elearning and multimedia authoring tools |

Critically evaluate design and development considerations with respect to e-learning and other online technical standards, specifications and frameworks |
LO4 |
Demonstrate critical design, administration, moderation and management skills in the real world use of an online Learning Management System (LMS). |
LO5 |
Appraise new and emerging tools and technologies for learning in context of the ongoing history of the use of technology for learning |

Course authoring tools, rapid e-learning tools, content converter tools, testing and assessment tools, web design tools, animation and video editing tools, media editors, and criteria for use and selection of same
