Module Description: This module aims to prepare the learner for a professional career in the performance industry. As well as audition preparation, students will learn to self-promote through a personal portfolio including CV, showreel, social media and interaction with agencies.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 present and promote him/herself through a professional CV and portfolio, show reel/demo reel or cd demo etc. (as appropriate to his/her selected career pathway)
LO2 display competence and ease with interview and audition techniques
LO3 demonstrate knowledge of the role of the professional casting director, agent and other theatre professionals
LO4 appreciate the importance of union membership and the necessity for personal financial management

Self Promotion through Interview
Developing interview techniques and oral presentation skills
CV and Portfolio/Demo Preparation
Creating and developing a professional portfolio, show reel/demo reel etc.
Union Membership
The role played by Equity - the Performance Industry's Union, and the need for union membership
Financial and Tax Management
Students will learn about finance and tax management, as they relate to the arts professional
