Module Description: According to the Localisation Industry Standards Association (LISA), localisation can be defined as “taking a product and making it linguistically and culturally appropriate to the target locale” whereas internationalisation is defined as a process “of generalising a product so that it can handle multiple languages and cultural conventions”. In this module, students will be provided will an overview of both localisation and internationalisation as it relates to the software development process. It looks at localisation from a code level to user interface requirements and outlines best known methods in localisation and internationalisation.
